We desire to provide a safe breathing space for you to come and sort things out. We believe that we are created in love by a God who wants more than just the best for us; Who really wants to see us soar into a life of meaning and relationship and yes, surprise. We believe we are designed by Love to be loved; designed and equipped with the potential to extend and receive amazing love and relationship and yet, harmed by the increasingly harsh realities of our world.
So the mission of Diane Powell, PhD and Associates is to fight for your heart, and surprise you into a life of intrigue and adventure, THE adventure.
Dr. Powell is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Christian Counselor. She has been counseling since 1983. In addition to working with clients she actively trains young therapists and has served as an adjunct professor of counseling at St. Louis University. Dr. Powell is also currently a visiting professor in counseling at Covenant Theological Seminary.
Dr. Powell earned her PhD in Marital and Family Therapy from St. Louis University in 1992. Prior to counseling, Diane and her husband Gary served as full time campus ministers for 6 years with Campus Crusade for Christ.
Diane specializes in individual therapy with adults and children, marital and family therapy and has advanced training in abuse recovery and women’s issues. She also provides clinical supervision and training for counselor licensure.

We view the counseling process as forming an alliance with you, exploring the nature of your problem as well as your relationships with other significant people in your life. We believe that many forces contribute to our problems but that they are rooted in relational issues.
